Pengaruh Beberapa Media Tanam terhadap Karakter Agronomis dan Kandungan Klorofil Microgreens Sawi (Brassica Juncea L.)
Effect of Several Planting Media on Agronomic Characters and Chlorophyll Content of Mustard Microgreens (Brassica Juncea L.)
Abstract
The success of growing microgreens cannot be separated from the use of planting
media, the planting media functions as a standing medium and provides nutrients
and water that will be absorbed by the roots for the plants to grow. This research
aims to analyze the effect of several planting media on the agronomic
characteristics and chlorophyll content of mustard greens (Brassica juncea L.). This
research was carried out in Bangun Sari Village, Tanjung Morawa District and the
Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra from May
2024 to June 2024. The research used a non-factorial Randomized Group Design
(RAK) repeated six times with several planting media treatments consisting of
rockwool, charcoal husk, cocopeat, and a mixture of husk charcoal: cocopeat (1:1).
The results showed that the planting medium had a significant effect on increasing
plant height and wet weight but had no significant effect on the number of leaves,
chlorophyll a content, chlorophyll b content and total chlorophyll content. The
planting media were husk charcoal, cocopeat, and a mixture of husk charcoal:
cocopeat produced higher plant height and wet weight and showed significant
differences compared to rockwool planting media.
