This research aims to determine the optimal composition of brake pad composites concerning hardness, wear rate and coefficient of friction. The materials used in this study are shell powder, iron powder (Fe), and resin. The brake pads were manufactured using a metallurgical process involving powder mixing until uniform, followed by compacting the mixture under a 2-ton load for 15 minutes, and sintering at 175°C for 15 minutes. The compositions studied are as follows: Composition A with 45% shell powder, 45% iron powder, and 10% epoxy resin. Composition B with 50% shell powder, 40% iron powder, and 10% epoxy resin. Composition C with 55% shell powder, 35% iron powder, and 10% epoxy resin. Tests conducted included hardness and wear tests. The best results for hardness and wear were obtained with Composition C, yielding 28.02 BHN, 8,51 x 10^(-6)(gr/〖mm〗^2).
