Hubungan Tingkat Pengetahuan Mengenai Anemia pada Kehamilan dengan Kadar HB pada Ibu Hamil di Puskesmas Aek Kota Batu

Abstract

Background. Anemia is a condition where there is a decrease in hemoglobin, hematocrit, and erythrocytes below normal levels. The impact of anemia during pregnancy is not only during the pregnancy process itself but also during labor, postpartum, and on the newborn. Maternal mortality rates, perinatal mortality, premature births, incidence of preeclampsia, low birth weight, small for gestational age (SGA) infants, and obstructed labor are all associated with anemia during pregnancy. One of the risk factors for the occurrence of anemia is the level of knowledge of pregnant women. Objective. This study aims to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge about anemia during pregnancy and Hb levels in pregnant women. Methods. This study used an observational analytic research method with a cross-sectional design. The research sample consisted of 80 respondents, namely pregnant women who reside and visit the Aek Kota Batu Health Center and meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Bivariate analysis used the Fisher’s Exact Test statistical test. Results. The majority of pregnant women have a good level of knowledge about anemia, and there is a significant relationship between the level of knowledge about anemia during pregnancy and the Hb levels in pregnant women.
