Faktor-Faktor yang Mempengaruhi Keputusan Petani Ikut serta Asuransi Usaha Tani Padi (AUTP) di Kabupaten Deli Serdang

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors that influence farmers' decision to participate in the rice farming insurance in Deli Serdang Regency. The determination of the research area was carried out purposively, namely the sub-districts that participated in the rice farming insurance in Deli Serdang Regency. The number of samples in this study was 100 samples using purposive sampling technique. The data analysis used logistic regression analysis. The results showed that the farmer's decision to join the rice farming insurance can be explained by the variables of farmer's education, income, number of family dependents, land area, farming experience, frequency of crop failure risk, participating in socialization, activeness of farmer group management, rice farm insurance requirements/procedures and getting government assistance by 86.8%, while the remaining 13.2 % is explained by variables outside the model. The factors of land area, farming experience, intensity of the risk of crop failure, following socialization, activeness of farmer group administrators and getting government assistance have a significant effect on farmers' decisions to participate in the rice farming insurance, while the factors of education, income, number of family dependents and rice farming insurance terms/procedures have no significant effect on farmers' decision to participate in the rice farming insurance.
