Analisis Hasil Tangkapan Ikan Tongkol(Euthynnus Sp.) dan Pola Musim Penangkapan dengan Alat Tangkap Purse Seine di Perairan Selat Malaka

Abstract

The Strait of Malacca is a body of water that connects two large areas which are usually located between two land masses, namely Sumatra Island and the Malaysian Peninsula. This strait is widely used by fishermen because the waters are on the outskirts of the city. The potential in the Strait of Malacca greatly determines the fish. The purpose of this study was to analyze Catch per Unit Effort (CPUE), determine the Maximum Sustainable Yield (MSY) value, and determine the seasonal pattern of tuna (Euthynnus sp) fishing in the Strait of Malacca. This research method uses observation and survey methods by collecting primary and secondary data. Primary data is data obtained from research results and then processed, while secondary data is used to support primary data. Primary data is obtained cross-sectionally, namely the data used comes from a study conducted at a certain time, interviews with purse seine fishermen using a questionnaire. Secondary data is obtained from monthly data at PSDKP Belawan from 2019-2023 and then processed in Microsoft Excel. The results of this study indicate that the CPUE (Catch per Unit Effort) value in 2020 is the highest CPUE value while in 2022 it is the lowest CPUE value. The Maximum Sustainable Yield (MSY) value for tuna resources in the Belawan PPS is 6260.59 tons/year. The peak season for tuna (Euthynnus sp.) fishing occurs in June (west season) while the fishing season with the lowest value is estimated to occur in December (west season).
