Introduction. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS), a mononeuropathy caused
by compression of the median nerve in the carpal tunnel, accompanied by symptoms
such as pain, numbness, and paresthesia in the hand. According to the International
Labor Organization (ILO), CTS is one of the common work-related musculoskeletal
disorders, caused by repetitive movements over long durations, exposure to
vibration, extreme wrist postures, or a combination of these factors. Bank
employees are particularly vulnerable to this condition, as they often work more
than 8 hours/day using Video Display Terminals (VDTs) like keyboards, computers,
and mouse, leading to repetitive hand movements. Prevention of CTS can be
achieved through a combination of methods, such as ergonomic workplace
arrangements, education, hand exercises, and regular breaks during work.
