dc.description.abstract | PT. Sri Intan Karplas Industry is a company engaged in the plastic weaving industry. In carrying out its production process, this company uses several machines such as extruders, cirlooms, finishing machines, and printing machines. The maintenance applied by this company to maintain the functionality of the machines is corrective maintenance, where machine maintenance is carried out after a failure occurs, resulting in losses in terms of time and production delays. The cirloom machine is a machine that has the highest component failure frequency with a failure frequency reaching 88 times during 2023. The effects of this high failure rate and the applied maintenance system often hinder production on the machine. Therefore, this study was conducted with the aim of analyzing failures in cirloom machine components and rescheduling maintenance intervals and maintenance actions to improve component reliability. This method was carried out by applying the Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) method, which is a preventive maintenance method that is able to provide planning for machine maintenance. The application of the Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) method shows that the reliability of critical components that have a significant impact on the cirloom machine based on the Pareto principle are bearing, tension, v-belt, insertion, and bobin disc components. The reliability of each critical component of the cirloom machine compared to the reliability standard in Indonesia with a value of 70% shows a reliability difference of 22.32%, 16.68%, 18.19%, 15.95%, and 15.44%. Based on this, it is proposed that preventive maintenance be scheduled for each component, which is carried out with time intervals of 12 days, 23 days, 33 days, 39 days, and 40 days. The preventive maintenance policy carried out for critical components on the cirloom machine is scheduled discard task and scheduled restoration task. | en_US |
