Analisis Dampak Konversi Alih Komoditi Tanaman Karet ke Tanaman Kelapa Sawit terhadap Kesejahteraan Karyawan (Studi Kasus: PT. Gergas Utama Kecamatan Wampu Kabupaten Langkat Provinsi Sumatera Utara)

Abstract

The conversion of rubber plantation commodities to oil palm plantations has a complex impact on the welfare of workers in the plantation sector. The objectives of this research are: to 1) analyzing the causes of conversion of rubber plantations to oil palm plantations at the research location; 2) analyzing employee income before and after the conversion of rubber plantations to oil palm plantations at the research location; 3) analyzing employee welfare after the conversion of rubber plantations to oil palm plantations at the research location. The data analysis method used in this research is descriptive analysis, analysis of employee income and welfare levels according to indicators set by BPS 2023. The results of this research show ha the causes of conversion at PT. Gergas Utama is when the company's rubber commodities cannot meet the basic salaries of employees which continue to increase every year. Receipts from employee salaries before the conversion amounted to IDR 2,564,718 and receipts from employee salaries after the conversion amounted to IDR 3,087,235. Employee welfare could be seen from the eight indicators, the average employee welfare is at a good level.
