dc.description.abstractTifoid fever is caused by the microorganisms Salmonella typhi and Salmonella paratyphii. Tifoid fever is an endemic disease in Indonesia and is a health problem for the community, especially in communities with poor economic conditions. Based on an initial survey conducted by the author at several Junior High Schools in Medan, the highest number of cases of Tifoid Fever occurred at State Middle School 10 Medan, with 11 students at State Middle School 10 Medan in the 2023/2024 academic year who had been exposed to fever. Tifoid. The aim of this research is to determine the level of knowledge about Tifoid Fever among students at State Middle School 10 Medan based on gender and class. The research design used in this research is descriptive analytic with a cross-sectional approach. The population in this study was 1,047 students at State Middle School 10 Medan for the 2024 academic year. In this research, sampling used the Slovin formula with a sample size of 289. The data analysis used was univariate analysis. The results of the study showed that the level of knowledge about Tifoid Fever among students at State Middle School 10 Medan was 38 (13.1%) in the poor category, 107 (37%) in the sufficient category, and 144 (49.8%) in the good category. The level of knowledge about Tifoid Fever among Medan 10 State Junior High School students based on gender is dominated by female students who have good knowledge as many as 95 (32.9%) and males who have good knowledge as many as 49 (17%), where there is an influence between gender and the level of knowledge about Tifoid Fever in students at State Middle School 10 Medan. The level of knowledge about Tifoid Fever among students at State Middle School 10 Medan based on class year is dominated by students with the class of 2021 having good knowledge at 82 (28.4%), the class of 2022 having good knowledge at 41 (14.2%). ), and the class of 2023 who had good knowledge was 21 (7.3%), where there was an influence between the year of the class and the level of knowledge about Tifoid Fever among students at State Middle School 10 Medan.en_US
