This study examines the phenomenon of ijime (bullying) among school children as depicted in the animated film A Silent Voice. The purpose of this research is to explore the various forms of ijime and the impacts of these bullying actions portrayed in the film. The theoretical framework for this analysis includes literary sociology theory, bullying theory, and impact theory. The study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method to analyze how incidents of ijime are portrayed in the film. Through this approach, the research highlights the forms and impacts of ijime, which can devastate an individual’s life from various aspects. The findings reveal that ijime manifests in three forms: verbal, physical, and relational. The impacts of ijime create an unhealthy and painful environment not only for the victims but also for the perpetrators, resulting in severe psychological effects, anxiety, low self-esteem, and social isolation. A Silent Voice serves as a social mirror, emphasizing the importance of understanding the consequences of bullying and the need for support and empathy for those involved. Additionally, the film provides valuable insights into the social reality of ijime in Japan, particularly within the context of education.
