Pengaruh Penambahan Zeolit Terhadap Pembuatan Beton Polymer dari Bahan Cangkang Kulit Kopi dan Batu Apung dengan Campuran Resin Polyurethane
The Influence of Zeolite Addition on The Fabrication of Polymer Concrete from Coffee Bean Shell, Pumice, and Polyurethane Resin Composite
Abstract
The utilization of eco-friendly raw materials unique physical properties has become a focus in the development of polymer concrete technology. One of the attractive raw materials is zeolite, a natural mineral with absorption and catalytic properties. Zeolite can help increase the compressive strength of polymer concrete and reduce pores that can cause structural weaknesses. This study uses zeolite with varying amounts (0.2, 4, 6, 8, 10) grams mixed with polyurethane resin with varying amounts (15, 20, 25) grams to achieve the best possible concrete results. The best physical testing results with a composition of (54:6:9:25) yielded a density of 1.42 g/cm3, porosity of 4.8%, and water absorption of 6.02%. The results meet the standards according to SNI 03-0691-1996, where the maximum water content limit is 10%. Meanwhile, the mechanical testing results yielded a compressive strength of 11.18 MPa, tensile strength of 6.57 MPa, and flexural strength of 19.19 MPa. The concrete produced in this study falls under lightweight concrete, which will be employed as a replacement for conventional red brick in wall or floor construction, allowing for the construction of houses at a relatively lower cost.
