Background. Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) is a crucial indicator of public health, particularly in developing countries. According to Indonesia’s 2020 census, the MMR is 189 deaths per 100,000 live births, with Papua recording the highest rate at 565. High MMR is primarily caused by pregnancy complications such as hypertension, hemorrhage, and heart disease. Routine antenatal care (ANC), set at six standard visits in Indonesia, plays a vital role in detecting risks early, reducing MMR, and helping pregnant women recognize danger signs to improve maternal and child health outcomes. Objective. To assess the knowledge and attitudes of pregnant women at Tanjung Rejo Health Center, Deli Serdang, regarding ANC visits. Methods. This study is a descriptive observational study with a cross-sectional design, conducted on pregnant women at Tanjung Rejo Health Center, Deli Serdang, from July to October 2024. The sample was selected using non-probability consecutive sampling with a total of 100 respondents, using a questionnaire as the research instrument. Results. In the present study, out of 100 respondents, 35 respondents (35%) had poor knowledge, 34 respondents (34%) had sufficient knowledge and 31 respondents (31%) had good knowledge. Furthermore, for attitudes, the results obtained were adequate attitudes of 45 respondents (45%), good attitudes of 41 respondents (41%) and unfavorable attitudes of 14 respondents (14%). Conclusion. This study reveals that the level of knowledge and attitudes of pregnant women at Tanjung Rejo Public Health Center towards antenatal care visits varies significantly. Efforts to enhance education are necessary to support more optimal antenatal care visits.en_US
