Citra Perempuan Tokoh Utama dalam Novel Jais Darga Namaku Karya Ahda Imran Pendekatan Feminisme

Abstract

This study aims to describe the image of women in the main character in the novel Jais Darga Namaku by Ahda Imran. This research uses a feminist approach by focusing on two main aspects of women's image, namely women's self-image and women's social image. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method. Data were collected through document analysis of words, phrases, sentences, and paragraphs containing women's images. In this study, two images of women were found depicted through the character Jais Darga. First, the self-image of women includes physical aspects and psychological aspects. The physical aspect shows Jais' physical changes in the process of women's life, such as puberty, menstruation, pregnancy, and childbirth. Meanwhile, the psychological aspect shows that Jais has humility, intelligence, independence, resilience, and self-confidence. Second, the social image of women, which includes the image of women in the family and the image of women in society. The image of women in the family shows that Jais acts as an obedient, independent, and wise wife, as well as a loving, forgiving, and patient mother. Meanwhile, the social image of women in society shows Jais as a successful woman in the international art world, as an influential art dealer and buyer, and active in social activities.
