dc.description.abstractTherapeutic communication is an important thing in health services in hospitals, if nurses apply therapeutic communication poorly to patients then this will have an impact in reducing public trust in hospital health services and reducing the quality of the hospital itself as well as the public's slanted view of the quality of services. health in Indonesia. The lack of application of therapeutic communication is due to nurses' low knowledge of the application of therapeutic communication. Nurses do not understand the concept of implementing therapeutic communication so that nurses do not establish a relationship of mutual trust with patients. The aim of this research is to explain the application of therapeutic communication between nurses and patients at the Hidayah Deli Serdang General Hospital in 2024. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The population taken in this study were all nurses at RSU Hidayah Deli Serdang, namely 35 nurses. The samples taken in this study were all nurses at RSU Hidayah Deli Serdang using total sampling technique. Data was collected using a questionnaire. Based on the research results, it was found that as many as 19 nurses (31.1%) implemented therapeutic communication well, and as many as 16 nurses (26.2%) implemented therapeutic communication poorly. Around 54.3% of nurses at the Hidayah Deli Serdang General Hospital have implemented therapeutic communication with patients well. At the stage of implementing therapeutic communication at the orientation and evaluation stage, nurses had not achieved maximum results, whereas at the work stage the nurses had done it well.en_US
