dc.description.abstract | A solar water heater is a tool used to supply the need for hot water which is usually used for bathing. Solar energy is used as alternative energy to reduce the use of conventional electrical energy which can result in an increase in world carbon gas emissions. Many modifications and improvements have been made to improve the performance of solar water heaters, especially flat plate collector type solar water heaters. In this research, a flat plate collector type solar powered water heater was designed and built with modified rectangular fins on the pipe. The dimensions of the collector in this water heater are the dimensions of the absorber plate 1.6 meters x 1 meter, the thickness of the insulator made of polyurethane is 2.5 cm, the length of the heating pipe used is 22.4 meters made of copper, and the total area of the fins on a pipe of 0.2788 square meters. | en_US |
