Perbandingan Profil Lipid pada Pasien Stroke Iskemik dan Stroke Hemoragik di Rumah Sakit Adam Malik Tahun 2023
Comparison Of Lipid Profile of Ischemic Stroke and Hemorrhagic Stroke in Adam Malik Hospital at 2023
Abstract
Introduction. Stroke is one of the causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide.
Stroke can be divided into two subtypes: ischemic stroke and hemorrhagic stroke.
Lipid profiles are often associated with the risk and progression of stroke; however,
a deeper understanding is still needed regarding the differences in lipid profiles
between these two types of stroke. Objective. This study aims to compare the lipid
profiles in patients with ischemic stroke and hemorrhagic stroke. Methods. This
research uses a quantitative approach and a cross-sectional method. Using a
consecutive sampling technique, 180 patients, consisting of 128 ischemic stroke
patients and 52 hemorrhagic stroke patients, were included in this study. Statistical
analysis was conducted using the independent t-test and the non-parametric Mann-
Whitney U test to assess the differences in mean lipid profiles between the two
groups. Results and Discussion. The study results showed a significant difference
only in the HDL profile, with a p-value of 0.02, while no significant differences
were found in other lipid profiles, such as LDL, total cholesterol, and triglycerides,
with p-values of 0.273, 0.109, and 0.484, respectively. Conclusion. A significant
difference in lipid profiles was found in the HDL variable, while no significant
differences were observed in the Total Cholesterol, LDL, and Triglyceride variables.
