dc.description.abstractBackground. Stunting is a condition of failure to thrive due to insufficient nutrient intake over a prolonged period. In Indonesia, the prevalence of stunting ranks 4th highest in the world. Stunting is still very common in North Sumatra. As many as 21 out of 33 regencies/cities in North Sumatra have a prevalence above 20 percent. South Tapanuli Regency has the highest stunting prevalence in North Sumatra. One of the risk factors for the occurrence of stunting is socioeconomic factors. Objective. This research aims to determine the relationship between economic status and mothers' knowledge level about stunting at the Danau Marsabut Health Center in South Tapanuli Regency. Method. This research is an observational analytical study with a cross-sectional design. The sample taken in this study is 80. Data were obtained through questionnaires distributed to research subjects who met the inclusion criteria. Results and Discussion. Among 80 respondents, the level of knowledge about stunting was found to be sufficient in 70%, good in 17.5%, and poor in 12.5%. The Chi Square correlation test showed a significant relationship between economic status and the mother's level of knowledge about stunting (p=0.000). Conclusion. The majority of mothers have a sufficient level of knowledge about stunting, and there is a significant relationship between economic status and the level of mothers' knowledge about stunting.en_US
