dc.description.abstract | Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) culture is an important element that must continue to be considered to maintain the safety and health of workers in the company. However, PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminum (Inalum) has seen a decline in OHS culture in recent years. PT Inalum implements the 5S program which aims to manage the workplace to be more organized, safe, and comfortable to support more effective and efficient work activities to improve the company's OHS culture. The type of research used in this research is descriptive research. The object of this research is the 5S program which sort, set in order, shine, standardize, and sustain. Data collection was carried out using the observation method on the object of research, namely the application of the 5S program. The data analysis technique was carried out descriptively. This research was conducted in 4 departments, namely: health safety environment, quality assurance, warehouse, and casting. The results showed that the implementation of the 5S program has been implemented by the four departments at PT Inalum. However, the implementation of the 5S program has not been consistent in the health safety environment department, warehouse department, and casting department. In contrast, the implementation of the 5S in the quality assurance department has been consistent. The suggestion in this study is to fill out the 5S checksheet regularly and increase commitment to implementing the 5S. Quality assurance department workers must maintain the consistency of 5S implementation. Warehouse department workers should sort unused items, perform regular cleaning, provide 5S checksheets, and increase commitment to implementing the 5S. Casting department workers should adhere to storage, fill out 5S checksheets regularly, and increase commitment to implementing the 5S consistently. PT Inalum should conduct unannounced inspections to ensure the implementation of the 5S is ongoing and identify problems that are not visible during routine 5S assessments. | en_US |
