Analisis Pengetahuan Sikap Tindakan Pemeliharaan Rumah oleh Ibu Rumah Tangga dalam Mewujudkan Rumah Sehat di Kelurahan Aur Kecamatan Medan Maimun

Abstract

The coverage of healthy homes in Aur Village, Medan Maimun Subdistrict, is only 5.6%, necessitating research on household maintenance by housewives. Home maintenance is crucial for ensuring the safety and well-being of home occupants. The aim of this research is to analyze the knowledge, attitudes, and actions of housewives regarding home maintenance in achieving healthy homes in Aur Village, Medan Maimun Subdistrict. This research is descriptive in nature. The variables examined include characteristics of housewives, their knowledge of home maintenance, their attitudes towards home maintenance, actions taken for home maintenance, and the assessment of healthy homes, which consists of aspects of housing components, sanitation facilities, and resident behavior. Data collection was conducted through interviews and observations. The results show that the knowledge of housewives falls into the good category at 70.8%, sufficient at 27%, and poor at 2.2%. The attitudes of housewives are categorized as good at 16.9% and sufficient at 83.1%. The actions of housewives are categorized as good at 7.9%, sufficient at 55.1%, and poor at 37.1%. The knowledge of housewives regarding home maintenance is considered good, their attitudes towards home maintenance are categorized as sufficient, and their actions for home maintenance are also categorized as sufficient. The assessment of healthy homes reveals that 94.4% of homes in Aur Village do not meet the criteria for healthy homes according to the Indonesian Ministry of Health regulations from 2007 and 2023. It is recommended to apply the knowledge about home maintenance possessed by housewives, to enhance their attitudes towards home maintenance, and to improve their actions in home maintenance. It is also suggested that the local government and relevant parties get involved in implementing environmental policies and providing facilities that support healthy home maintenance practices, thereby improving the coverage of healthy homes in Aur Village, Medan Maimun Subdistrict.
