dc.description.abstractPremenstrual syndrome is not life-threatening, but its high level of discomfort can have an impact on a woman's productivity and mental well-being. In addition to nutritional status, vitamin B6, calcium and magnesium deficiencies are also causes of premenstrual syndrome. The purpose of this study was to determine the intake of vitamin B6, calcium and magnesium consumption in students who experience premenstrual syndrome at RK Deli Murni Junior High School in Bandar Baru. This type of research is descriptive research. The number of samples in this study was determined based on the slovin formula and the sampling technique used simple random sampling. Nutrient consumption was taken using a 24-hour food recall form. While premenstrual syndrome was measured using the shortened premenstrual assessment form (sPAF) questionnaire. The results of this study showed that out of 51 female students, 35.3% had a deficient level of vitamin B6 intake and 64.7% had an adequate level of vitamin B6 intake consumption. The level of calcium intake is less as much as 39.2% and 60.8% who have sufficient levels of calcium intake consumption. The level of magnesium intake was 52.9% and 52.9% who had sufficient magnesium intake consumption level. Girls who did not experience premenstrual syndrome were 23.5%, 41.2% with moderate levels of premenstrual syndrome symptoms and as many as 35.3% with severe levels of premenstrual syndrome symptoms. It is recommended for students of SMP RK Deli Murni Bandar Baru to increase the consumption of food sources of vitamin B6, calcium and magnesium in order to reduce the risk of premenstrual syndrome.en_US
