dc.description.abstractMental disorders are a condition of disruption of mental function, emotions, thoughts, will, psychomotor and verbal behavior, which is a group of clinical symptoms that are accompanied by sufferers and result in disruption of the individual's humanistic function. Self-care deficit is a condition where an individual experiences weakness in completing or carrying out all self-care activities independently. The impact of a self-care deficit according to (Rusdi, 2013) states that there are two impacts of a self-care deficit, namely the physical impact and the psychosocial impact. The aim of this practicum is to get a general picture of nursing care for patients with self-care deficits at the Prof. Mental Hospital. Ildrem Medan. This practical method is carried out by conducting assessments and providing group activity therapy, so that the client's knowledge increases in maintaining personal hygiene, especially dental and oral hygieneen_US
