dc.description.abstract | Electricity is the most widely used energy today because of its practicality and efficiency in terms of control and distribution. Electrical energy is the easiest to distribute because it is not physical because it only relies on conducting cables or transformers. Electricity always has a detrimental effect if something goes wrong or fails in its use. One of the failures in the distribution of electrical energy is an overload of the provided distribution capacity. To overcome this, the authors try to design and create a system that can detect cable heat and provide an alarm or warning message to technicians when an overload occurs and can monitor temperature remotely using the DS18B20 sensor. The sensor gives its output to the microcontroller for processing, which is calibrated to a temperature value which is then compared to a reference limit. A remote monitoring system can be made by applying IoT technology by utilizing the internet network and a microcontroller that has been equipped with a WiFi adapter and programmed to detect cable heat. When the temperature reaches 55°C the buzzer starts to sound and is heated continuously the temperature will reach 80°C. At this time the relay will be turned off, the buzzer will continue to sound and the display will display the message "Protection system". After a few moments, a Telegram message came in on the cellphone, namely a chat which stated that the protection system was due to over heating on one of the main cables. | en_US |
