Nursing Care Management in Patients with Ovarian Cyst Postoperative; Pain Management with Deep Breathing Techniques
Abstract
The high number of ovarian cyst cases is due to the lack of public knowledge about reproductive health and lack of awareness to check their personal health. Ovarian cysts may indicate a malignant process or more dangerous conditions, such as ectopic pregnancy, ovarian torsion or appendicitis. Treatment of ovarian cysts, whether benign or malignant, can be done by surgery. Post-operative care after surgical removal of ovarian cysts is similar to that after abdominal surgery. Clients with postoperative ovarian cysts will experience problems related to pain, bleeding, high risk of infection, difficulty in mobilizing, lack of self-care and other problems that will interfere with client needs. The role of nurses in dealing with cases of patients with Ovarian Cyst Post Surgery is needed to provide nursing care to patients, which is focused on pain management, energy management and infection prevention. The purpose of pain management is to reduce the pain felt without having to use analgesics.Based on the askep performed to Mrs. I, the provision of non-pharmacological therapy to reduce pain with deep breathing techniques was successful with the outcome criteria already listed. It is expected for nursing services to continue to provide non-pharmacological therapy to postoperative patients to reduce the pain felt due to surgery.
