Background: Communication is the interest of every individual to socialize with others. Without communication, it will have be very difficult for someone to connect connect with others and it will be very difficult to achieve a certain goal. In improving the perfomance of study program employees, one of the factors that determines success is the role of good communication and in accordance with student needs.
Objective: This study aims to determine the effect of communication on increasing employee perfomance in the Diploma III Secretarial University of North Sumatera.
Method: This subjects of this study Program Diploma III Secretarial and Students. The data collection instrument in this study used a questionnaire.
Result: The results of the study indicate that the role of communication has a good influence on employee perfomance so that employees and students can feel comfortable in communicating. Both of these things have an influence on the perfomance of employees of the Diploma III Secretarial Study Program University of North Sumatera to be more effective and efficient and can provide maximum output/results.
Conclusion: The role of Communication shows a mutually related relationship with employee performance. Therefore, it is necessary to understand more deeply that communication cannot be underestimated in the life of an organization. Communication clearly has a control function over and not just as a means of information.
