This research is carried out at the library of the chatolic university of saint Thomas .the objective of this research is to find out the application of interpersonal communication of librarian in serving library .user during the covid-19 pandemic at the library of the catholic univeraity of saint Thomas medan.the research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach describing and collection the data through the library or the field using observation and interview techniques with three informants in the library.communication is extremely essential to determine the ideal quality of library services,especially interpersonal communication .librarians must have interpersonal communication skills, namely empathy, equality, self confidence, togetherness and interaction management in providing services in order to create excellent service at the library of the Catholic University Of Saint Thomas Medan.The research results indicate that the process of interpersonal communication for librarians in serving library users is always implemented in accordance with healt protocols during the Covid-19 pandemic. By carrying out social distancing, some interpersonal communication skills such as empathy, support, opennes and equality are still effectively carried out by librarians.there are some interpersonal communication skills that are less applied, such as the attitude of togetherness and attitude of interaction management
