The material that can be used to make active carbon is coffee bean skin which is still underutilized. This research was carried out to reduce iron (Fe) levels using activated carbon from coffee bean skins with KOH activator in drilled well water. The activated carbon obtained was characterized using the X-Ray Diffraction test. The concentration of iron metal (Fe) was determined in samples before and after the addition of activated carbon from coffee bean shells using an Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (ASA). The research results showed that the concentration of iron (Fe) in drilled well water after adding activated carbon from coffee bean shells decreased. Coffee bean skin activated carbon with variations of 2%, 4% and 6% KOH activator can absorb 99.49% of iron (Fe) metal; 86.60% and 89.78%. This research shows that the highest percentage (%) in reducing iron (Fe) using coffee bean shell activated carbon with KOH activator was obtained at a KOH concentration of 2%.en_US
