dc.description.abstract | The synthesis of polyurethane from Damar mata kucing (Shorea Javanica) and PEG 400 using isocyanate monomer was carried out by reacting the resin resin with 98% formic acid and 30% H2O2, then polyurethane was made by reacting the resin resin polyol with PEG 400 using isocyanate monomer with a variety of polyols. gum resin: PEG 400 with the addition of toluene 2,4-diisocyanate, namely 100:0; 80:20; 60:40; 40:60:2; 20:80: and 0:100. The polyurethane that was obtained was then characterized using FT-IR and the degree of swelling was tested to determine polyurethane cross-linking. The results of the FT-IR spectrum of gum resin and gum resin polyol show the presence of OH groups of 3406.8 cm-1 and 3414.2 cm-1, respectively. The results of the FT-IR spectrum show that polyurethane can be synthesized from gum resin polyol as evidenced by the presence of absorption at wave numbers around 3280-3295 cm-1 which indicates the absorption of –NH groups from urethane, the presence of wave numbers 1669-1654 cm-1 which indicates the C=O group, the presence of The wave number 1222 cm-1 indicates the presence of a C-O group and the absence of a peak at 2275-2250 cm-1 indicates that the isocyanate has reacted completely with the hydroxyl group. The optimum polyurethane ratio was obtained in 80% polyurethane polyurethane with a swelling degree percentage of 3.19% with the highest crosslinking. TGA analysis shows high thermal stability of 80% polyurethane with a total mass loss of 95.07%.Keywords:Cross-linking, Damar mata kucing resin, Polyol, Polyurethane | en_US |
