This study aims to assess the students' vocabulary improvement through flashcards, with a specific emphasis on nouns, particularly those related to fruits and animals, within the context of grade 2 at Sultan Iskandar Muda Elementary School in Medan. Employing the classroom action research method, the research integrated quantitative and qualitative methods, including test scores, interviews, field notes, and documentation to collect the data. The findings show the progression in students’ vocabulary mastery over time and the effectiveness of the instructional methodes used during each cycle and the overall improvement in their performance. The results indicated a notable 17,1% increase in students' vocabulary test scores from cycle I to cycle II, demonstrating the substantial efficacy of the flashcards in advancing students' vocabulary achievement. Base on the findings, it can be concluded that flashcards can be an affective instructional medium for improving students’ vocabulary achievement.
