Analisis Pemanfaatan Koleksi di Perpustakaan SMA Perguruan Islam Al-Ulum Terpadu Medan

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the use of collections for students at the Library of SMA Perguruan Islam Al-Ulum Terpadu Medan in supporting the student learning process. This research is a quantitative method research with a descriptive approach. This study focuses on two factors that influence users in utilizing collections, namely internal factors and external factors and by utilizing collections. Data collection techniques used in this research involved distributing questionnaires via Google Forms. The sampling technique employed is Stratified Random Sampling using the Slovin formula, resulting in a total sample of 76 students. Data analysis in this study includes the examination and data tabulation stages. The results of the study show that the utilization of the collection at the library of SMA Perguruan Islam Al-Ulum Terpadu Medan in terms of internal factors included 83% needs, 81% motives, and 76% interest. External factors include the completeness of the collection as much as 83%, the skills of librarians as much as 84%, and the availability of facilities as much as 83%. And how to use the collection which includes borrowing as much as 81%, reading as much as 84% and photocopying as much as 55%. From the three indicators that have been described, the external factors that are categorized have been very good in the utilization of collections in the library of SMA Perguruan Islam Al-Ulum Terpadu Medan, which means that the collection owned by the library is complete and has a good procedure for borrowing and returning collections to make it easier for students to use the collection.
