This research aims to find out the potential for developing tourist destinations in
Tapanuli Regency in order to increase contribution to GRDP, analyze what factors influence
tourism development and to find out the policy strategy of the North Tapanuli Regency
government. This research uses descriptive analysis to determine the potential for developing
tourist destinations in Tapanuli Regency in order to increase the contribution to GRDP in
North Tapanuli Regency, multiple regression analysis to analyze the influencing factors for
developing tourism in North Tapanuli Regency and SWOT analysis to determine the Regency
government's policy strategy North Tapanuli in the context of regional development
originating from the tourism sector. The data collected is primary data sourced from the
respondent community through interviews and secondary data obtained from documentation
of institutions/agencies related to the research.
The results of this research indicate that the Tourism Destination Development
Policy Strategy for Regional Development in North Tapanuli Regency is that developing
potential tourist destinations in North Tapanuli Regency in order to increase the contribution
to GRDP in North Tapanuli Regency requires an increase in Regional Original Income from
the tourism sector, the number of tourist attractions, Infrastructure, promotion, accessibility,
tourist attractions have a positive and significant influence on tourism development in North
Tapanuli Regency and the policy strategy of the Regional Government of North Tapanuli
Regency in the framework of regional development originating from the tourism sector is to
maintain environmental cleanliness and natural beauty, developing tourist attractions. and
tourist attractions by improving facilities and infrastructure as well as tourist attractions,
increasing promotions, improving the quality of human resources.
