Users’ Perceptions of Facilities and Infrastructure at the Library of the State Islamic University of North Sumatra

The objective of this study was to assess users' perceptions of the facilities and infrastructure at the Library of the State Islamic University of North Sumatra. The research employed a descriptive quantitative approach. The study population consisted of 30,735 active undergraduate students at the State Islamic University of North Sumatra, Indonesia. The sample size, determined using the Slovin formula, comprised 100 respondents. Both primary and secondary data were utilized as sources. Data collection methods included questionnaires, observations, and literature review. The data were processed using an interval scale formula, while data analysis was conducted using the Likert scale to assign scores to each statement item. The findings of the study indicate the following user perceptions of the facilities and infrastructure at the Library of the State Islamic University of North Sumatra: (1) user perceptions of the library building were rated as "good," with an average score of 3.06; (2) user perceptions of the library space were also rated as "good," with an average score of 2.83; (3) user perceptions of the library facilities were rated as "less favorable," with an average score of 2.03; and (4) user perceptions of the library’s location were rated as "good," with an average score of 2.85.
