Gambaran Kesehatan Mental Remaja di Bagan Deli Belawan

Abstract

Bagan Deli is one of the villages located in the easternmost part of Medan Belawan Sub-district. Bagan Deli is classified as a disadvantaged neighborhood because of there are many problems that occur, especially in adolescents such as brawls, which are associated with the potential mental health problems of Bagan Deli adolescents. This study aims to obtain a description of the initial condition of adolescent mental health in Bagan Deli Belawan using the Strength and Difficulties Questionnaire and open questions. The study was conducted on 264 Bagan Deli adolescents aged 13-18 years. Results showed that most adolescents had a Very Low to Moderate Risk of Mental Health Problems despite living in a disadvantaged neighborhood. The results showed that the biggest influence on Bagan Deli adolescents having a low risk of mental health problems was high Prosocial Behavior. This is also supported by the various physical activities that adolescents do both alone and with friends. Meanwhile, the Difficulty results show that the potential problems found in Bagan Deli adolescents are in line with adolescent problems in general.
