Management of Nursing Services and Care for Clients Diabetes Mellitus Type 2 through Diabetes Mellitus Type 2 Health Education in Padang Bulan Selayang 1
Abstract
Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a chronic disease characterized by blood glucose (blood sugar) levels exceeding normal, namely blood sugar levels at or above 200 mg/dl, and fasting blood sugar levels above or equal to 126 mg/dl. Diabetes Mellitus is known as the silent killer because it is often not realized by the person and when it is known complications have occurred. DM can attack almost all systems of the human body, ranging from the skin to the heart which causes complications. Diabetes Mellitus is a disease caused by hyperglycemia or high levels of glucose in the blood and abnormalities in metabolic processes due to insulin deficiency. One way to increase knowledge and prevention related to diabetes mellitus is to provide Diabetes Mellitus Health Education. The purpose of this senior practice is to provide information and understanding about Diabetes Mellitus with Health Education related to Diabetes Mellitus with a Nursing Care approach. Nursing care is carried out starting April 29-May 25, 2024. The methodology in this senior practice is a case study involving three managed clients with Diabetes Mellitus problems. The results of nursing care obtained by the three clients were able to understand and accept the education that had been given. It is hoped that clients will continue to check blood sugar levels regularly and carry out type 2 diabetes mellitus diets.
