dc.description.abstractThis study aims to design and build a freezer with a capacity of 60 kg of fish using an 8 HP Otto engine as the main driving force. The background of this study is the need for fishermen for an efficient cooling system that can be used in remote areas that do not have access to electricity. The cooling system designed uses the principle of vapor compression refrigeration with the main components being a compressor, condenser, evaporator, and glass pipe. The results of the freezer design that are driven by the Otto engine are the designed cooling load of 0.919 kw, 8 hp engine power with a rotation speed of 1200 rpm, the evaporator capacity used is 3.712, the condenser capacity is 4.632 kw, and uses a casing pipe with a length of 2.5M with a diameter of 0.065 mmen_US
