Emotional Stability Personality Type in Generation Z Users of Generative Artificial Intelligence
Abstract
This research is a quantitative study that aims to describe the personality type of emotional stability based on gender, age, ethnicity, faculty origin, purpose and reasons for using generative artificial intelligence (GAI) in Generation Z GAI users. The participants in this study were 365 students of the University of North Sumatra (USU) who were between 17-25 years old and were GAI users. The measuring instrument used is the International Personality Item Pool Big-Five Factor Marker-25 (IPIP BFM-25) developed by Aktar and Azwar (2018). This study used convinience sampling technique. This study was attended by 365 participants, with 72 participants getting low emotional stability scores, 65 participants getting high scores, and 228 participants getting unclassifiable scores. The results showed that the reasons USU students with high emotional stability scores use GAI are for access to information and references and for practical reasons such as easy to use, efficient, and effective. The results of the Chi-Square test show that the purpose and reasons for using GAI do not have a significant relationship with the level of emotional stability in generation Z GAI users.
