dc.description.abstractLip prints are wrinkles and curves on the lips that are unique to form a distinctive, individual and determine personal identity. The purpose of this study is to find out the description of lip print patterns, to see the different types of lip print patterns and to describe the dominant types of lip print patterns of Indian men and women. Search literature using 3 journal databases that is namely PubMed, ProQuest and EBSCO ,until 8 March, 2022 according to the PRISMA stage using relevant keywords and reviewing the quality of the literature based on NOS assessment by 2 reviewers . The inclusion criteria were population (male and female lip print patterns), intervention (lipstick method) and outcomes (different types of male and female lip print patterns). The study to be analyzed contained 6 literatures with a total sample of 1660 lip print patterns. The results of the study show the diversity of results between types of lip print patterns from various ethnic backgrounds in India. There was a significant difference in the type of lip print pattern between men and women using the Chi-Square test (P<0.001) according to; Jeergal et al, Kataria et al, Bai et al, and Gugulothu et al, and using the z-test (p<0.05) test by Koneru et al. However, Hunasgi et al. showed that there was no significant difference between men and women. The most dominant lip print patterns in males are Type II, Type I', Type III, Type IV and in women are Type II, Type I, and Type I'. Conclusion of this study: The description of the lip print pattern of the Indian community has varied results. There are significant differences in the type of lip print pattern between men and women. The most dominant lip print pattern in males and females is similar, namely the branching groove (Type II).en_US
