Providing clean water is an effort to meet people's needs for a healthy, clean and productive
life. However, in reality access to clean water is still limited, especially in the Batu Bara
Regency area. This study aims to obtain clean water needs in 6 villages in Batu Bara Regency,
namely, Kuala Tanjung Village, Pematang Kuing Village, Mandarsah Village, Lalang Village,
Tanjung Harapan Village, and Tanjung Kubah Village, for the next 10 years and obtain a water
distribution network plan the best clean by PU Ministerial Regulation No. 27 of 2016 from a
review of water pressure and velocity with the help of the EPANET 2.0 program. The water
source will be used from the Tanjung River with a watershed area of 1.542 km2
and a 90%
reliable discharge of 17,97 m3
/second. The population projection results for 2033 using the
exponential method are 32.539 people, the total need for clean water at peak hours is 176,4
liters/second. Using a 20" HDPE pipe. From the pipe hydraulics simulation using EPANET 2.0
results, it was obtained that the pressure was 35,3 m, and the flow velocity in the pipe was 1,21
m/s. The highest headloss on the pipe was 5.97 m/km.
