    Abstract
    The Biodiesel Manufacturing Plant from PFAD (Palm Fatty Acid Distillate) as Raw Material using the Esterification Process is planned to produce with a capacity of 250,000 tons/year and operate for 300 days a year. The aim of the pre-design of this biodiesel manufacturing plant is to optimize the availability of PFAD (Palm Fatty Acid Distillate) which is abundant in Indonesia and determine the feasibility of the pre-design process of the plant from an economic perspective. The factory location is planned in Sei Silau Village, Buntu Pane District, Asahan Regency, North Sumatra Province with a required land area of 14,179 m2. The business entity form of this company is planned to be a Limited Liability Company (PT) and the organizational form is line and staff with the required workforce of 199 people. For the establishment and operation of the factory it requires capital investment of IDR 1.692.578.939.362 and production costst of IDR 1.387.166.931.585. Based on the feasiblity analysis, this plant has a BEP 23,104 %, ROI 49,06 % POT for 2,04 years, RON 82 %, and IRR of 52,299 %. Based on the economic analysis, it can be concluded that plant is feasible to established.
