Periodontitis is an inflammatory disease that damages the supporting tissues of the teeth caused by microorganisms, one of which is Porphyromonas gingivalis. Treatments that can be done are scaling and root planing with additional herbal-based therapies such as a combination of Snakehead Fish and Jengkol Skin. Snakehead Fish contains amino acids and fatty acids as antibacterial, while Jengkol Skin contains flavonoids, tannins and saponins as antibacterial. The purpose of this study was to determine the antibacterial effectiveness of the combination of extracts of Snakehead Fish and Jengkol Skin extract. This research method is an experimental laboratory with a post test only control group design. The dilution method was used as an antibacterial test for Porphyromonas gingivalis. The bacterial sample used was Porphyromonas gingivalis ATCC® 33277™. Snakehead Fish extract was obtained through an extraction and dilution process, while the Jengkol Skin extract was obtained through a maceration and dilution process, adding bacterial suspension with three repetitions. Analysis of the data used in this study is one way ANOVA test and post hoc test (LSD). The results showed that the combination extract of Snakehead Fish and Jengkol Skin with concentrations of 2.5%, 5% and 10% could not inhibit and kill Porphyromonas gingivalis bacteria.en_US
