Analysis of the Effect of Earthquake Load on the Response of the Structure of a 2000 ton Capacity Cylindrical Tank with Variations in the Comparison of Tank Diameter and Height
Abstract
Indonesia is an earthquake-prone region so earthquakes have a considerable
influence in designing building structures in Indonesian territory. Steel plate oil
tank is a structure whose role is increasingly used in fluid storage, in this study the
fluid used is in the form of oil. In this study, how to design a steel plate oil tank in
accordance with API 650 10th Edition regulations "Welded Steel Tank For Oil
Storage" especially for the tank wall, then how we apply the earthquake load on the
tank to the behavior of the tank in the form of internal force experienced by the tank
wall due to the internal load and the earthquake load. In this study, a variation in
the comparison of the diameter and height of the tank with the same earthquake
area but the value maintained is 2000 tons. From these variations, which variation
is the most effective from the point of view of this study and how much the
earthquake load affects the tank wall.
