Management of Nursing Care for Post Caesarean Section Patients through the Application of Finger Grip Relaxation Technique for Pain Reduction in the Maternity Ward of Prof. Dr. Chairuddin Panusunan Lubis USU Hospital
Abstract
Caesarean section delivery is a surgical process to deliver a baby through incisions in the abdomen and uterus, which can cause pain for post-Caesarean section mothers. The World Health Organization states that the average percentage of Caesarean sections ranges from 5% to 15% per 1000 births worldwide. The incidence rate in public hospitals generally reaches 11%, while in private hospitals it can exceed 30%. The aim of this senior practice is to provide nursing care to Ny.Y through the application of finger grip relaxation techniques to reduce pain in post-Caesarean section mothers at CPL USU Hospital. The intervention was carried out for approximately three days with the result being a decrease in the level of pain intensity in Ny.Y after receiving finger grip relaxation therapy intervention. The pain scale perceived by post-Caesarean section mothers during assessment with a scale of six, after intervention by applying finger grip relaxation techniques to the mother, the pain scale decreased to three. The hope for post-Caesarean section mothers is to apply this non-pharmacological technique at home to reduce pain caused by Caesarean section surgery.
