dc.description.abstract | Adolescence is a crucial stage in the development of an individual, marked by rapid physical and psychological changes. Teenagers are
considered as agents of change, with immense potential to shape the future of the nation. However, data reveals that Binjai City lacks sufficient
platforms for teenagers to express themselves, leading to their involvement in negative activities. The youth population in Binjai City stands
at 73,917 individuals aged between 10 to 24 years, indicating the urgent need for a comprehensive Youth Activity Center.
This research proposes a design concept for a Youth Activity Center that not only offers a space for positive expression but also
incorporates biophilic Architecture design principles. Biophilic Architecture aims to create environments that promote human health and wellbeing
by seamlessly integrating natural elements into buildings and surroundings. The center is envisioned as a cool and inviting space that
will facilitate positive and sustainable interactions between teenagers and their environment.
By addressing the potential and challenges faced by teenagers, the Binjai Youth Center aims to be a hub that supports self-development,
creativity, and positive activities. Through a biophilic approach, the center aims not only to serve as a recreational facility but also as a catalyst
for reducing negative adolescent behavior. In doing so, the Youth Center seeks to make a positive contribution to the holistic development of
teenagers in Binjai City, enabling them to grow and evolve as productive members of society. | en_US |
