Online shopping is an activity with significant limitations compared to offline
or in-person shopping. One of these limitations is the inability to view products directly
before making a purchase decision. This challenge can be addressed with Augmented
Reality (AR) technology, which provides a visual representation of how products appear
in the real world through the buyer's mobile device. Augmented Reality (AR) is a
technology that delivers 3D visual representations, making objects appear as though
they are situated in a real-world environment. This research utilizes string pattern
analysis as a method to extract product dimensions from a specified website. The string
analysis produces regular expressions (regex) containing product dimension patterns,
which can be used to identify product sizes from lengthy strings. The regex
implementation is deployed on a Python server to simplify the application's workflow.
This application leverages ARCore from Unity as its engine for mobile devices. The
study reveals that application users rated it 90.41% in terms of usability, 86.66% for
ease of use, and 89.52% for satisfaction. Therefore, it can be concluded that the
application resulting from the integration of augmented reality and string pattern
analysis is feasible for enhancing the online shopping experience.
