Intensitas Penggunaan Slot Online, Perilaku Psikososial dan Prestasi Belajar Remaja di Desa Simatahari Kecamatan Kota Pinang

Abstract

Adolescents are a high-risk group for developing online slot addiction. They tend to act impulsively without considering the consequences of their actions, such as engaging in online slot gambling. Online slot addiction can lead to a decline in learning motivation, causing adolescents to neglect school assignments, which ultimately results in poor academic performance and diminished self-confidence. This study aims to investigate the intensity of online slot usage, psychosocial behavior, and academic achievement of adolescents in Simatahari Village, Kota Pinang Subdistrict. The research employs a quantitative method with a descriptive design. The research questionnaire comprises demographic data, an online slot questionnaire, and a psychosocial behavior questionnaire. Convenience sampling was used to select a total of 101 adolescent respondents. The results show that the majority of adolescents fall into the moderate category for online slot usage (65 adolescents, 64.4%), have positive psychosocial behavior (52 adolescents, 51.5%). and exhibit moderate academic achievement (51 adolescents, 50.5%). Based on these findings, nurses should actively educate adolescents and parents about the negative impacts of online slot gambling. Active participation from schools is also crucial in preventing online slot addiction among adolescents. Adequate knowledge can help prevent addictive behaviors in this age group.
