Abstract

Patients with low self-esteem disorders tend to have negative feelings towards themselves so that patients tend to experience a lack of self-confidence, feel themselves useless and feel they always fail to achieve their desires. Positive ability training therapy is carried out to explore the positive aspects that are actually owned by the patient, so that the patient grows the feeling that he is useful and able to become a better individual. This positive ability training therapy is part of generalist therapy for clients experiencing low self-esteem. This writing method uses nursing care management. The samples used were patients with self-concept disorders: low self-esteem totaling 2 people. Case studies were conducted in the Bukit Barisan room of the Mental Hospital. Prof. Ildrem North Sumatra in May 2024. Data collection tools with assessment, Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale questionnaire sheet, and patient activity schedule sheet. The results of the case study showed that the patient experienced an increase in self-esteem after positive ability training. Positive ability training is able to increase the self-esteem of patients who experience low self-esteem self-concept disorders.
