    Abstract
Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a group of heterogeneous disorders characterized by elevated blood glucose levels or hyperglycemia. Under normal conditions a certain amount of glucose from food will circulate in the blood, blood glucose levels are regulated by insulin, a hormone produced by the pancreas that functions to control blood glucose levels by regulating the formation and storage of glucose. In DM patients, cells in the body stop responding to insulin or the pancreas stops producing insulin, this results in hyperglycemia so that in a certain time it can cause acute metabolic complications, besides that in the long term hyperglycemia causes neuropathic complications. Foot exercises are activities or exercises performed by patients with diabetes mellitus to prevent wounds and help improve blood circulation in the feet. Foot exercises aim to improve blood circulation so that nutrients to the tissues are smoother, strengthen small muscles, prevent foot deformities, strengthen calf muscles, and thigh muscles, and can reduce blood glucose, and overcome joint motion limitations that are often experienced by people with diabetes mellitus. The location of the practice is Chairuddin Panusunan Lubis Education Hospital Medan. This diabetic foot exercise was given to 1 patient with diabetes mellitus which was carried out on May 20 - May 25, 2024. After the action was taken, the patient responded well and was cooperative during the activity, so that the application of diabetic foot exercises to patients could reduce the patient's blood sugar levels.
