Management of Nursing Care for Physical Mobility Disorder in Diabetes Mellitus Client in Asam Kumbang Village
Abstract
Diabetes mellitus is a serious chronic disease caused by the pancreas not being able to deliver insulin, but it can also occur when the body cannot effectively use the insulin produced. Physical activity has an important role for people with diabetes mellitus because it is important in managing blood sugar levels. Low physical activity can lead to impaired physical mobility. Physical mobility disorders are one of the nursing treatments for clients who have limited independent and directed movement that occurs in the lower extremities. Effective implementation to overcome physical mobility problems caused by diabetes mellitus is foot exercise. The purpose of senior practice is to identify Nursing Care Management of Physical Mobility Disorders in Diabetets Mellitus Clients in Asam Kumbang Village. Managed client amounted to one elderly person, this activity was carried out on May 21-27, 2024 using observation, interview, and physical exercise methods; foot exercises. The results obtained by foot exercises are very effective in helping reduce blood sugar levels applied to clients with nursing problems with physical mobility disorders. Giving foot exercise therapy for 5 days can reduce sugar levels before foot exercise therapy 440 mg/dL, after being given foot exercise therapy on day 3 to 339 mg/dL, on day 5 to 260 md/dL. It is recommended for clients to apply foot exercises to help overcome physical mobility disorders caused by diabetes mellitus so that clients can carry out physical activities to achieve quality of life.
