dc.description.abstractThis research analyzes the translation strategies of short stories in the book تعلّم اللّغة العربي بطريقة ممتعة /taʻallumu al-lugati al-ʻarabiyyati biṭarīqatin mumtiʻatin/. The purpose of this study is to identify and analyze the translation strategies used in three short stories in Arabic language learning book entitled تعلّم اللّغة العربي بطريقة ممتعة /taʻallumu al-lugati al-ʻarabiyyati biṭarīqatin mumtiʻatin/ by Said. This research is a qualitative library research using descriptive method. The theory in this research uses the translation strategy theory proposed by Vinay and Darbelnet to analyze three short stories in the book تعلّم اللّغة العربيّة بطريقة ممتعة /taʻallumu al-lugati al-ʻarabiyyati biṭarīqatin mumtiʻatin/. The results show that in the three short stories in the book تعلّم اللّغة العربيّة بطريقة ممتعة /taʻallumu al-lugati al-ʻarabiyyati biṭarīqatin mumtiʻatin/, the translator uses two translation strategies: direct translation strategy and oblique translation strategy. There are two direct translation strategies: borrowing and literal translation, while there are three oblique translation strategies: transposition, modulation and equivalent. The translation strategies that are not found are calque strategy from direct translation strategy and adaptation strategy from oblique translation strategy.en_US
