dc.description.abstract | The increasing amount of candlenut shells that are difficult to decompose
causes environmental pollution due to the accumulation of waste. Processing
candlenut shell waste into ash or biochar can increase the benefits of candlenut
shell. Candlenut shell ash and biochar can be used as ameliorants in NPK
fertilization. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of ash and biochar
candlenut shell in the availability of NPK nutrients in corn plants (Zea mays L.) in
ultisol soil. This research was conducted in Pangururan, Samosir Regency, starting
from June 2024 to November 2024. The results showed that ameliorants ash and
biochar candlenut shell can increase the growth and production of corn plants (Zea
Mays L.) in ultisol soil. Candlenut shell ash is more effective than candlenut shell
biochar as ameliorant in NPK fertilization. The treatment of candlenut shell ash at
a dose of 10 tons/ha and 1 dose of NPK fertilizer (A12) can increase the growth and
production of corn plants (Zea Mays L.) in ultisol soil. | en_US |
