Abstract

Background: Implementation of pharmaceutical services according to applicable standards really supports the role of pharmacists in providing quality pharmaceutical services to protect patients and the public and provide legal guarantees for pharmaceutical personnel. Therefore, the Pharmacist Professional Work Program was implemented at Prof. Hospital. Dr. H. Chairuddin Panusunan Lubis. Objective: To prepare and equip prospective pharmacists to understand the duties, responsibilities, skills and expertise needed by a pharmacist in a hospital and to provide opportunities for prospective pharmacists to see firsthand the management of hospital pharmacy installations and the implementation of pharmaceutical services in hospitals. Method: PKPA activities were carried out from March 13 to May 15 2024 at Prof. Hospital. Dr. H. Chairuddin Panusunan Lubis University of North Sumatra includes managing pharmaceutical supplies, medical devices, and consumable medical materials, and providing hospital clinical pharmacy services. Clinical pharmacy services consist of outpatient, inpatient, operating room depot, emergency department, chemotherapy, and warehouse. Conclusion: Based on professional pharmacist work practices carried out at Prof. Hospital. Dr. H. Chairuddin Panusunan Lubis, There is an increase in prospective pharmacists' understanding of the duties and roles of pharmacists in hospitals by PMK RI No. 72 of 2016 concerning Pharmaceutical Service Standards in Hospitals.
